Oh I know what you mean. Nothing more fun than playing with water drops, a long thin brush and waiting for the ultimate moment to intervene! If I am not careful, when I finally stop there's just too much happening. I guess the best thing to do is to paint alot, get all the fiddling out of your system and then do something minimalist.
